Workshop Overview

Amazing Pathways workshops are designed to get individuals back in the workforce or where they need to be after a set-back or when direction, motivation, counseling or training is needed. We all travel our own journey through life. Sometimes a little help goes a long way.

AP was approved to provide the Wellness training developed by Congresswoman Nanette Diaz Barragan’s DC staff. The value of this course is amazing. It includes, but not limited to: Managing Your Mental, Physical and Spiritual Health! Following are some of the workshops offered.

Job Readiness Training and Pre-Employment Skills will be split into two 6 week workshops. The courses offered for each workshop will be spread over a six week span. Courses will be taught twice a week, in 2 hour sessions. For customized workshops, contact us.

Preparing a resume

A well-written resume that highlights your most relevant qualifications for the job will help you get selected for an interview. Above all, your resume needs to be consistent, concise, and clear and easy to read. We will explore the following aspects of resume writing, such as:

  • Resume type
  • Right font and size
  • Resume key words
  • Proof your resume
  • Using resume templates

Preparing a cover letter

Your resume is intended to lay out the facts, but your cover letter is meant to convey more personality. The cover letter is your first introduction to the person who may hire you, and its goal should be to make you as memorable as possible, in a good way. We will explore the following aspects of cover letters, such as:

  • Show how you can solve specific problems
  • Pick an appropriate voice and tone
  • Tell your story (career wise)
  • Don’t sound like everyone else

Career exploration

There are many careers from which people can choose, but recognizing which industries and occupations lead to good wages and adequate employment opportunities can be challenging. Important aspects to consider when choosing a career are:

LinkedIn is the most powerful corporate social network for anyone in business or looking to forward their careers. In this course I will teach you the basics of this platform. We take a look at your profile, building your connections, how to use groups and the search system.

Personal Development

Emotional Intelligence

We all have different personalities, different views, wants and needs. The good news is that emotional intelligence skills can be developed. In this workshop, students learn about Emotional Intelligence awareness. What it is and why it is important. By completion of course students will at the minimum understand self-awareness, empathy, social skills and how it impacts others as well as themselves by actions taken for short term and long term results. Our personalities will most likely not change but learning about EI, will give students direction for having more successful relationships and professional relationships. Examples and exercises keeps this course entertaining while getting the message.

In the emotional intelligence workshop students learn about empathy. Social awareness and how to apply it. In this course students will gain a better understanding what they want in life. The impacts of their choices for the purpose of enjoy life’s journey.

Strategy for Success

In order to achieve program success, we have implemented a 12 step process. This allows us to engage with each individual from start to finish, including follow ups. The registration assessment process helps match curriculum to our participants, allowing for optimal success. We also have a checkpoint system is in place that can strategically check in at various steps of the program and make adjustments as necessary.
